Historic and ceremonial county covered by three unitary authorities, Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Bedfordshire, shortly referred as Bedfordshire is located in the East of England. The Buckinghamshire borders it to the west, Northamptonshire is to the north, Cambridgeshire lies to the east/northeast, and Hertfordshire remains to the east/southeast. It is one of the counties of Great Britain that is most densely populated, with two major built-up areas, the county town Bedford and Luton.

There are three major heritage sites full of arts and cultural activity, Warden House, Stockwood Discovery Centre and The Hat Factory Arts Centre.
